The school year is fast approaching! For a number of years, we have provided field trips at Clearview Orchards for children. We enjoy this opportunity to give children a chance to see how apples are grown and to learn the important role agriculture plays in providing a bountiful food supply.
The tour cost this year is $2.50 per child.
We will begin with a tour of our big refrigerator where we store apples. A short walk to the orchard takes us past the pony pasture and sheep barn. We will have a discussion about a number of important elements needed to grow nutritious apples and operate a farm. After a lesson on how to expertly pick apples, the children may each pick a bag of apples to take home. Please allow 30 minutes for the tour and 15-30 minutes for them to pick.
There are picnic tables and a port-a-jon available if you would like to stay for lunch or a snack. Please let us know so we can reserve the tables.
Please call to schedule a tour for a group. We look forward to working with you this year!
